Yixing Zisha Teapot 220cc – Purple Clay – Long Mouth – Cicada Painting Calligraphy

This pot was designed around the hand, not around the display case. The red clay sets this one apart from plainer pieces in the same range. In the photos, the cicada painting has a handmade quality that mass-produced pieces lack. Sized at 220cc, it is built for solo gongfu sessions.

The clay is purple clay that brews a softer, rounder cup than porcelain. The matte surface shows the clay's natural grain, with no glaze or coating, which makes daily brewing just a little easier. One detail worth noting: spout, handle, and body are balanced so the pot feels right when full. In practice, handle stays cool enough to hold through a full session. Let it air-dry with the lid off between sessions; it is the kind of detail you only get from handmade work. The calligraphy reads even better in person than in the photos.

Add it to your cart and give your tea the vessel it deserves. A fine way to start, or continue, a Yixing collection.
